Deon's passion for life in the outdoors began at a very young age. Born and raised in South Africa,
his childhood was spent exploring the great outdoors during the many family wilderness trips.
His life long dream to fly finally materialized when he obtained his wings in the 90's and
began to explore the world of aerial photography of the African skies and outdoor travel destinations around the globe.

We all come from the sea,
but we are not all of the sea
Those of us who are,
we children of the tides,
must return to it again and again,
until the dau we don't come back
leaving only that which was touched along the way
Wildlife has its various migrations,
to benefit their welfare,
birds move from North to South,
Caribou head for the grasslands,
bear hibernate until Spring
comes again.
As the weather changes,
wildlife fluctuates
where they dwell,
with great awareness,
of what suits them best,
with an innate instinct.
An instinct for survival that calls
and drives their natural yearnings,
for helping them get where
they can more safely live
with a constant fright
and flight finale.
